These are products that Dr. Bell and the Team have personally used for years, so it is natural for us to enthusiastically recommend them to our patients.

Sonicare Toothbrush

We like the Sonicare because it has been scientifically proven to remove more plaque from the teeth with less effort than any oral hygiene instrument. It also makes your teeth and gums feel great!

We now use and dispense the Sonicare Elite 7800 – the newest and most advanced of the Sonicare toothbrushes, available exclusively through dental offices. The patented sonic technology with improved brush head design creates improved dynamic cleaning action.

Mouth Rinses

Since we believe that the standard alcohol-based mouth rinses are far too irritating to oral tissues, we offer and recommend several mouth rinses that are not alcohol-based and offer better results.

Closys

Closys breaks sulfur bonds that come from bacterial breakdown of flesh. This breakdown could include something you have eaten, or, in of the case of periodontitis, your own gums being broken down by bacteria. This rinse contains chlorine dioxide and can be used to keep bacteria from growing in water. For this reason, we recommend putting a splash in the water to keep bacteria away from snoreguards and occlusal guards while being stored. BreathRx

BreathRx contains Zyrex natural oil and other ingredients that kill large quantities of germs. It also has a powerful mint flavor. BreathRx breaks sulfur bonds, which are the main cause of bad breath, and is gentle on tissues. This mouth rinse is used in our treatment areas to freshen up after dental care. Peridex and Perioguard

These are both prescription-only rinses that are 0.12% Chlorhexidine. They are great for doing away with plaque, but tend to stain teeth badly after a few weeks and are only used for two weeks at a time for a specific therapy. However, they are very useful in certain cases. Our office dispenses 16 oz. for $19, or a prescription can be written if covered by your medical pharmacy expenses.

Sleep Breathing Disorders (Snoring, Sleep Apnea)

Thornton Adjustable Positioner

The Thornton Adjustable Positioner is based on the same principle as cardiopulmonary resuscitation in that it opens the airway, allowing for air to pass through the throat. Since a constricted or collapsed airway causes snoring or sleep apnea, the TAP prevents these from happening by holding the lower jaw in a forward position, therefore not allowing the jaw to fall open during the night, consequently causing the airway to collapse. The TAP maintains a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing.
