Technology
Great advancements have been made in dental technology, and Dr. Bell has a continuing investment in maintaining the very best and latest technology in his practice, while keeping patient quality and comfort as the top priorities.
Computerized Digital Radiography
Our office is one of the few dental offices in the United States using Computerized Digital Radiography, and we have been doing so since 1998. CDR allows images to be viewed on a large scale, allowing patients to see what the dentist or hygienist sees. Just as digital cameras have advantages over cameras with film, digital radiographs (x-rays) give you advantages over film radiographs. In general, digital radiographs are safer, better, faster and more effective than ordinary x-rays.
Safer: Get necessary care without unnecessary radiation
Radiographs (x-rays) play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems, but many people are concerned about the exposure to x-ray radiation. CDR eliminates these worries by requiring up to 80 percent less radiation than conventional film radiographs.
Better: As accurate as conventional radiographs--and reveals things film can't
The CDR image can be quickly magnified 300 times its normal size to enhance diagnosis, manipulated to correct contrast, and color-adjusted to reveal hidden problems.
Faster: More time caring for you, less time processing film
CDR images are instantaneous. No time is wasted processing and mounting x-ray film, so the dental Team spends less time in the dark room and more time with you discussing the health of your teeth.
Smarter: No harmful waste--or wasted money
The CDR system uses no film or chemicals, so we don't have to worry about disposing of hazardous processing waste. That's good news for the environment.
Additionally, CDR is covered under your basic x-ray benefits, so there's no reduction in your insurance benefits. You get safer, better, faster, smarter service without the usual increase in price.
As always, we only take necessary radiographs, with your permission.
Electronic Claim Filing for our Patients (E-Claims)
We file the majority of dental visit claims electronically. When given permission, we send claims at night for each day’s claims to the various insurance companies accepting electronic claims (e-claims). We receive a printout each morning confirming that the claim was received and that the claim was accepted with all necessary information. This form of electronic processing speeds up the payment process and prevents claims from being lost in the mail or from being put on hold for lack of information.
